2.55% 25-Month CD at University of Iowa Community CU - Local Only

University of Iowa Community Credit Union is offering three competitive certificate and IRA specials:

• 2.00% APY 15-month (2.15% over $100K)
• 2.55% APY 25-month (ends 1/7/2010)
• 2.75% APY 35-month, Add-On/Bump (2.90% over $100K)

Minimum deposit is $1,000. The 35-month CD special has a one-time bump and add-on option. The above rates are listed at the credit union's rates page as of 1/3/2010.

My last post on this credit union was in January 2008 when the credit union was offering 6.00% on balances up to $50K on its reward checking account. The rate and balance cap have fallen, but it still remains competitive with a 4% APY on balances up to $25K as of 1/3/10.

In addition to University of Iowa students, membership is open to those who live or work in any of the following Iowa counties: Johnson, Linn, Poweshiek, Iowa, Muscatine, Washington, Cedar, Tama, Louisa, Keokuk, Benton, Marshall, Jasper, or Mahaska.
