Top Reward Checking and CD Rates at Numerica Credit Union in WA & ID - Local Only
Numerica Credit Union continues to offer a good deal on its reward checking account called Sequel Checking. Unfortunately, the rate did fall in January, but it remains fairly competitive with a top yield of 3.19% APY for balances up to $25K. My first review of this account was in June 2008, so the rates have held up fairly well. For a $25K balance, the rate is higher than what's available nationwide.
The credit union also offers some good CD deals. The two most competitive CDs are the 3-year CD which has a 2.13% APY and the 18-month CD which has a 1.50% APY. These also have a bump feature which gives you the option of a one-time bump in rate. Minimum opening deposits are $1,000 for the regular CD and $500 for IRA CD. These rates are listed in the credit union's rates page as of 1/19/2011.
According to the membership application page, "Virtually anyone is eligible to join who lives, works or worships in Washington State or Bonner, Boundary, Benewah, Kootenai, Latah, and Shoshone Counties in Idaho."
Branches are located in the Washington cities of Spokane, Kennewick, Pasco, Wenatchee and Entiat, and in the Idaho cities of Coeur D'Alene and Hayden.
Numerica Credit Union has an overall health score at DepositAccounts.com of 5 out of 5 with a Texas Ratio of 17.34% (excellent) based on September 2010 data. Please refer to our financial overview of Numerica Credit Union for more details. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 66841).
