Competitive Long-Term CD Rates at Resource One Credit Union in Texas
It has been over three years since my last review of Resource One Credit Union. Its CD rates have held steady for quite a while, and that has resulted in some of the rates being very competitive. The two best ones are a 2.10% APY 5-year CD and a 1.80% APY 4-year CD. Minimum deposit is $90,000 for a Jumbo CD or $500 for an IRA CD. The rates are 10 basis lower for a regular CD with a $500 minimum deposit. These rates are listed in the credit union's rates page as of 8/22/2012.
According to the credit union's Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the early withdrawal penalty for CDs with maturities over one year is 180 days dividends on the amount withdrawn.
Membership is open to those who live or work in Dallas or Northwest Harris counties. Please refer to the credit union's How To Join Page for the full details.
There's an online application via Andera that can be used to become a member. However, CD accounts are not options in the application.
Resource One Credit Union branches are located in Dallas, Houston, Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Garland, Irving and Mesquite.

How These CD Rates Compare
These CD rates are comparable to the best rates you can find at all-access credit unions. The highest 5-year CD rate is 2.12% APY at US Senate FCU and the highest 4-year CD rate is 1.71% APY at Andrews FCU and at Melrose Credit Union.
Those in Dallas and Houston also have access to BBVA Compass which continues to offer a 2.00% APY 5-year CD.

I had to use their online chat because I couldn't find it on their website,
CD interest is compounded daily and credited Quarterly.
