Alta Vista Credit Union (CA) 60-Month CD Earns 3.00% APY
Alta Vista Credit Union’s (Alta Vista) 60-month Share Certificate has been earning 3.00% since the beginning of the year. (CSR stated he hadn’t heard of any upcoming rate drops for the 60-month Share Certificate.) The minimum opening deposit is $1k, with no stated balance cap.
The 60-month Share Certificate is also offered as an IRA (Traditional or Roth), earning the same APY, but according to the Truth-in-Savings (TIS) disclosure,
Maximum IRA Certificate to earn the stated APY is $50,000.
The TIS also lists the following Early Withdrawal Penalty:
Terms of 24 months or longer, the greater of $100.00 or 365 days’ dividends on the amount withdrawn.
There is a 10 day grace period before the 60-month Share Certificate automatically renews.
Availability
Headquartered in Redlands, California, Alta Vista Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is primarily residency-based, with those who live, work regularly, or worship in the California counties of Riverside or San Bernardino qualifying for membership.
Family members of individuals who are membership-eligible are welcome to apply.
U.S. Federal employees and active members/veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces (including Coast Guard, U.S. Armed Forces Reserve, National Guard) are also eligible for membership.
Joining Alta Vista and/or opening a Share Certificate can be done at either of two full-service California branches located in Redlands and Rialto. The Membership Application is available as a PDF and can be printed to expedite the application process.
A $5 non-refundable membership fee is required to become an Alta Vista member.
Alta Vista participates in the CO-OP ATM network but not the Shared Branch network.

Chartered in 1943, Alta Vista Credit Union was originally known as Norton Air Force Base (NAFB) Credit Union, serving military and civilian personnel assigned to the Base. (NAFB was a logistics depot and heavy-lift transport facility for a variety of military aircraft, equipment, and supplies.) Following the closure of NAFB in 1994, the Credit Union obtained a community charter and rebranded as Alta Vista.
