Last week, Arsenal Credit Union (Arsenal CU) substantially raised the rate on its 24-month CD to 3.25% APY. The minimum opening deposit is $500, with no stated balance cap. The 24-month Youth CD also earns 3.25%, but only requires a $100 minimum deposit.
|3.25%||$500||-||Arsenal Credit Union||24 Month CD|
|3.25%||$500||-||Arsenal Credit Union||24 Month IRA (Traditional, Roth)|
|3.25%||$100||-||Arsenal Credit Union||Youth 24 Month CD|
The CD is also offered as an IRA (Traditional and Roth), earning the same APY with the same funding requirements.
DA has been tracking the 24-month CD for about eight years, but it’s only been in the last three months that the APY has become competitive. Following three rate increases that added 150 bps, Arsenal CU's 24-month CD APY equals that of its 60-month CD.
As stated in the Account Disclosures, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:
We will impose a penalty if you withdraw any of the funds before the maturity date.
For accounts having a term greater than one year, the penalty imposed will equal 180 days of interest on the amount withdrawn.

Rebranded as “Arsenal” in 1952, the new name was a tribute to NGA’s campus on the banks of the Mississippi, which was the site of the St. Louis Arsenal during the Civil War.
