For a limited time, Ent Credit Union (Ent CU) is offering a 11-month Certificate earning 5.65% APY. The minimum deposit is $500 of new money, with no stated balance cap. According to the fine print on the landing page,
New money is considered funds outside of Ent Credit Union. Funds transferred from another institution up to seven (7) days before opening the CD will also qualify as new money.
Although Ent CU offers online and phone opening for all its other Certificates, the 11-month Certificate can only be opened in-branch.
As stated in the Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:
If the maturity of this certificate is one (1) year or less, the early withdrawal penalty is ninety (90) days forfeiture of dividends.
If dividends are insufficient to cover the early withdrawal penalty, the remaining portion of the penalty will be deducted from the principal.

The easiest way to make the “new deposit” required for this promotional-rate CD is to write a check from a different financial institution for the deposit amount. Other options include cash advances and wire transfers (fees may apply). You can also move money from another financial institution to your Ent account through an external ACH (automated clearing house) transfer. However, that transfer must be completed (not pending) prior to you visiting one of our service centers and opening your promotional-rate CD.
