Fox Communities Credit Union (Fox Communities CU) has added a 15-month CD Special, earning 3.08% APY. This limited-time offer can be opened with a minimum $10k deposit and there is no stated balance cap. (I confirmed with CSR that the CD Special does not require new money.)
The 15-month CD Special has the best CD rate offered by Fox Communities CU. Rates for the “regular” CDs range from 1.90% APY (12-month) to 3.08% APY (60-month).
According to CSR, partial withdrawals are permitted and are subject to an Early Withdrawal Penalty of 180 days on the amount being withdrawn.
Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, Fox Communities Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency-based, with individuals who live or work in the Wisconsin counties of Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond Du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, and Winnebago eligible to join.
Immediate family members of “anyone who is eligible for membership” are welcome to apply.
All employees of eligible payroll sponsored companies also qualify. Unfortunately, the payroll sponsored companies are not listed on Fox Communities CU’s website.
Joining Fox Communities CU can be done online, or at any of 25 Wisconsin branches located in Appleton (4), Black Creek, Clintonville, De Pere, Green Bay (11), Kimberly, Luxemburg, Manitowoc, Neenah, New London, Two Rivers, and Winnebago. FYI – the online application is not much more than a “Contact Me” form, which also captures basic personal information. According to CSR, an in-branch visit is required to finalize any membership.
Opening a CD Special requires an in-branch visit to any of the above locations.

Fox Communities Credit Union was established in 1937 as the Combined Locks Credit Union, exclusively serving the employees of Locks Mill. In 1980, the FOM was expanded to include all residents of Combined Locks, which is a town in Outagamie County named for the nearby canal locks. The Fox Communities rebrand occurred in 1987, as the FOM continued to expand through a series of mergers. Fox Communities is currently the eighth largest credit union in Wisconsin, with nearly 102,000 members and assets in excess of $1.6 billion.
