Investors Community Bank (WI) Bumps 5-Year CD Rate
Last week, Investors Community Bank (ICB) raised the rates on all its Certificates, with several currently leading the rates race in the Bank’s market area. ICB structures its Certificates a bit differently than most banks, allowing the customer to adjust the term length within the stated parameters. For example, the 1 to <2 year Certificate can be set to mature in 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, or 23-months. The minimum deposit for any ICB CD is $5k, with no stated balance cap.
The rate hikes for these Certificates ranged between 15 and 45 bps, with all the Certificates enjoying their highest APYs since they were added to the product line. In the past year, there have been between six and eight rate increases for ICB’s Certificates.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for all Certificates with terms between one and five years is six months interest on the amount being withdrawn.
Availability
Headquartered in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Investors Community Bank’s market area includes the northeast Wisconsin counties of Brown, Calumet, Manitowoc, Outagamie, Portage, and Winnebago.
Opening a Certificate at ICB can be done at any of the five Wisconsin branches, located in Appleton, Ashwaubenon, Green Bay, Manitowoc, and Stevens Point. CSR stated that “a lot of the paper work can be sent via U.S. mail” for existing ICB customers.
The Bank’s online platform, Investors Online is currently limited to account management and bill payment services.

Founded in 1997 by four local banking entrepreneurs, Investors Community Bank celebrated its 21st anniversary last month. ICB became one of the fastest growing banks in Wisconsin and is currently the 13th largest bank in the state, with assets in excess of $1.3 billion. Earlier this year, ICB featured a “Giving Back” money market promotion.
For a limited time, ICB donated $20, in celebration of the bank’s 20th anniversary in 2017, to local charities for each ICB Money Market account that was opened. Five charities in each market were chosen by ICB staff to receive the donations, then the customer selected which of the five to designate their donation to. More than $3000 was donated to charities in Appleton, Green Bay, Manitowoc and Stevens Point through this promotion.
