5.86% 12-Month CD at a Washington State CU - Variable (Cascade Forest Products)

POSTED ON BY

The Cascade Forest Products Credit Union is offering a 5.86% APY 12-month share certificate. The CD has a minimum deposit requirement of $2,500, and at least half of the funds must be from outside the credit union. Rate is subject to change each Thursday at 0.50 (margin) plus Federal Funds Rate.

The last detail is a little confusing, but I interpret it to mean that the rate is variable. Although the Fed is expected to cut rates later this year, the rate cuts could be later in the year than expected. In that case, the 5.86% APY may remain for most of the term.

The credit union's field of membership includes all those who live in the State of Washington. It has one branch in Vancouver, Washington.
