3.50% 12-Month CD & 3.35% 6-Month CD at Philadelphia Federal Credit Union

Philadelphia FCU is offering some very competitive certificate rates. The best rates have a minimum deposit of $25,000. These include 3.30% APY for 3 months, 3.35% APY for 6 months, 3.50% for 12 months and 3.60% APY for 24 months. The rates for a $10K minimum and $250 minimum are a little lower. These same rates are also available for IRA certificates. These rates are listed in the credit union's rate table as of 2/24/09.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the City of Philadelphia and in parts of Columbia County. You can also be eligible via one of a long list of Select Employee Groups. Please refer to the credit union's Who-Can-Join page for the full details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $5 in the Regular Savings Account.

Branches are located throughout Philadelphia and in Bloomsburg. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 7238).

Philadelphia FCU continues to offer a promotional 12-month IRA certificate with a yield of 5.02% APY for a $25,000 minimum deposit. A $10,000 minimum deposit earns 4.92% APY and a $500 minimum earns 4.70% APY. These are available as a Traditional IRA, Roth IRA and a Coverdell ESA. According to the IRA certificate promo page, the 12-month IRA special should remain valid until April 15, 2008.
