Earlier this week, Prestige Community Credit Union (Prestige CCU) introduced a new 14-month CD Special (1.30% APY) to its product line. The minimum deposit for the 14-month CD Special is $1K of new money, with no balance cap.

The 14-month CD Special is also available as an IRA (Traditional and Roth) earning the same APY, with the same funding requirements.

As stated on Prestige CCU’s CD Rate Sheet page, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows:

Early Withdrawal of Principal would result in a loss of 90 days of dividends earned or not.

Availability

Headquartered in Dallas, Prestige Community Credit Union offers membership to individuals who live, work, or attend school within a 10-mile radius of its headquarters on Knoll Trail. While this might sound like somewhat of a small area, it actually includes 34 Dallas Zip Codes, in addition to Zip Codes in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Garland, Irving, Plano, and Richardson.

Family members of current Prestige CCU members also qualify for membership, as do employees of several SEGs. At this time, there is not a list of SEGs on Prestige CCU’s website, but very helpful CSR stated that there were "many SEGs located in the Dallas metropolitan area."

Joining Prestige Community Credit Union can be done online or at the Credit Union’s sole branch located in Dallas. The membership application is also available as a download.

While some accounts can be opened online, the CD Special is not listed on the online application. CSR stated that opening any type of CDs requires an in-person branch visit.
