Prince George's Community FCU (MD) Adds 13-Month CD, 3.04% APY
Now through May 31, 2019, Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union (PGCFCU) is offering a 13-month CD Special, which earns 3.04% APY. The CD Special requires a minimum $1k opening deposit of new money, with no stated balance cap. There is no limit on the number of 13-month CD Specials a member can open.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for the 13-month CD Specials is 180 days of interest.
Availability
Headquartered in Bowie, Maryland, Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency based, with individuals who live or work in Prince George’s County eligible to join.
Immediate family members of current PGCFCU members are welcome to apply.
Joining PGCFCU can be done online, or at any of four Maryland branches, located in Beltsville, Bowie, Largo, and Upper Marlboro.
Membership requires a $50 deposit in a share savings account.
While the online application lists the other CDs in the product line, the 13-month CD Special is nowhere to be found. Instead, this appears at the bottom of the “Product Information” page, under “Other Product Interests,”

Established in 1967, Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union’s original FOM included Prince George’s County employees, exclusively. Not surprisingly, the credit union’s founding name was the Prince George’s Employees Federal Credit Union. For nearly 40 years, the FOM (and the name) remained unchanged until 2006, when the membership was opened to all residents of Prince George’s County. As the 28th largest credit union in Maryland, PGCFCU has more than 16,000 members and assets in excess of $174 million.
