True Sky Credit Union (OK) Has 18-Month CD Special, 2.75% APY

True Sky Credit Union (True Sky CU) is currently offering an 18-month CD Special, earning 2.75% APY. The minimum deposit is $1k, with no stated balance cap.

The 18-month CD was added to True Sky CU’s product line in late October. At that time, its 2.75% APY was just high enough to be included in DA’s bi-weekly CD Rates Summary. This week, that same 2.75% APY would be in the upper half of the Local 18-month CD category in the CD Rates Summary.

In a Live Chat, CSR stated that the Early Withdrawal Penalty is “180 days worth of interest from the amount withdrawn.” CSR confirmed that partial withdrawals are permitted, “as long as the amount remaining is not less than the minimum requirement of $1000.00."

Availability

Headquartered in Oklahoma City, True Sky Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency-based, with individuals who live, work, or attend school in the Oklahoma counties of Canadian, Cleveland, Grady, Lincoln, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma, or Pottawatomie eligible for membership.

Joining True Sky CU can be done online, or at any of eight Oklahoma branches, located in Edmond, Mustang, Norman, Oklahoma City (4), and Yukon.

The Membership Application can also be downloaded and returned by snail-mail, or brought to any of the above mentioned branch locations.

At True Sky Credit Union, all members are shareholders. Open a savings account with

While applying for loans and mortgages can be done online, opening CD requires a visit to any of the above-mentioned branch locations.

Last week, True Sky Credit Union (True Sky CU) added a 29-month CD, which earns 3.05% APY. The minimum deposit is $1k, with no stated balance cap. Accrued interest may not be withdrawn before maturity.

In a Live Chat, CSR stated that the Early Withdrawal Penalty is “90 days’ interest on the amount of the withdrawal.”

FAA Credit Union (OK) Has Top Rate 36-47 Month CD - Local Only

FAA Credit Union (OK) has a top-rate 36-47 month CD (1.91% APY). The minimum opening deposit is $500 and there is no maximum balance cap. This 36-47 month CD is also available as an IRA (Traditional and Roth) at the same rate, with the same balance requirements. According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty (EWP) is 90 days interest.

High-Yield Reward Checking Account at an Oklahoma Credit Union (FAA)

Update 12/31/10: The top rate has fallen to 4.10% APY.

FAA Credit Union has a reward checking account called Optimum Checking that pays 4.10% APY on balances up to $30,000 (0.25% for above) and refunds ATM fees if the following monthly requirements are met: 1) 12 signature based check card transactions, 2) active direct deposit, 3) receive electronic statements, and 4) access online banking. If these are not met, the rate falls to 0.25%. There are no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements.

3.61% 15-Month CD & 3.45% 9-Month CD at FAA Credit Union in Oklahoma
FAA Credit Union is offering 3 competitive share certificate specials. These include a 3.45% APY 9-month CD, a 3.61% APY 15-month CD and a 3.82% APY 35-month CD. The two short-term CDs have a $1,000 minimum deposit and the 35-month term has a $500 minimum. These appear to also be available as IRA certificates.
