4.25% 10-Month CD at a Georgia Bank (Integrity).

Update 8/29/08: The bank has been closed by regulators. See post for more details.

Update 7/26/08: The CD specials have changed. Please refer to the bank's website for the latest rates and specials.

Update 7/12/08: The CD special rate has gone up! The new yield is 4.25% APY. The title has been modified to reflect this change.

Integrity Bank has a 10-month special certificate of deposit with a yield of 4.00% APY. The minimum deposit is $1,000, and the maximum deposit is $90,000.

This bank has been offering high yield CDs for some time now. My last report on their CDs was in February when they were offering a 5.00% 6-month CD. They're currently offering a high yield reward checking account (see post).

Their website states that they do not accept out of state funds. The bank has branches in the Georgia cities of Alpharetta, Roswell, Smyrna, Duluth, and Cumming. All of these cities are just north of Atlanta.

The bank has been FDIC insured since 2000 (Certificate # 35469). The fact that it has a name close to the Minnesota Bank that failed in May (see post) may be a bad sign, and its financial rating doesn't help build confidence. BauerFinancial gives it 0 stars based on 3/31/08 data.
