iGObanking.com is offering a $50 gas card in its checking account promotion. To receive the bonus requires opening an iGOchecking account and paying 3 bills online using their Bill Pay and Presentation tool by October 31, 2008. The small print states that the reward will be sent to the first 400 accounts that fulfill the bill pay requirements. So if you sign up, you'll want to make the 3 bill payments as soon as possible.

I first reported on iGObanking's high yield checking account in this May 12th post. Like ING Direct's Electric Orange account, the checking account is basically a no-minimum checking account without paper checks. The interest rate is only 2.65% APY, but this is competitive as compared to ING Direct and HSBC Direct. A higher yield (currently 3.28% APY) is available in iGObanking's online savings account (see post).

iGobanking.com is a division of Flushing Savings Bank, FSB so deposits are FDIC insured. Flushing Savings Bank has a safe and sound rating of 4 stars (sound) at Bankrate.com based on 3/31/08 data.

This is just ridiculous.
They can always say that you were not in first 400.

iGObanking is a SERIOUS bank that is not going to pull a fast one by saying "you are not in the first 400". I have been with the bank for almost 2 years now and I have had nothing but great service (and rates) from them.

I received my gas card for this promotion on Monday (11/10/08). I don't know about the other 399 people.
