Top 5-Year CD Rate in St. Louis at Alliance Credit Union - Local Only

Alliance Credit Union is offering a competitive 5-year CD and IRA CD rate. It has a 2.16% APY with a minimum deposit of $1,000. The shorter term CDs are not quite as competitive. Some of these include a 1.61% APY 4-year CD and a 1.41% APY 37-month CD. These rates are listed in the credit union's rates page as of 3/27/2012.

In addition to these regular CDs, the credit union has an interesting type of CDs that it calls Income Now CD. These are designed to provide a pre-determined monthly payment made up of both principal and interest and have a zero balance at the maturity date. It may look like an annuity, it's just a CD bank account. According to the credit union, "this is not an insurance product."

The credit union's Income Now CDs do have some competitive rates. The terms range from 3 years to 20 years. Some of the noteworthy rates include 2.00% for 3 years, 2.20% for 5 years and 2.45% for 10 years. Minimum deposit is $5,000. Here's another holiday gift theme CD special. It's not as good as the last one, but it's not bad. Alliance Credit Union is offering a 5% APY 18-month CD. There are no details about minimum required deposits for this special CD, however, the standard CDs have a $1K minium deposit requirement.
