Bridgeton Onized FCU Boosts Rates On Short-Term CDs
Bridgeton Onized Federal Credit Union (BOFCU) began the week by raising the rates on its short-term Certificates: 90-day (1.20% APY), 180-day (1.30% APY) and 1-Year (1.40% APY). This is the first rate increase for these Certificates since their addition to the product line in 2011.
The minimum deposit for all three Certificates is $1K, with no balance cap. All three Certificates are available as IRAs (Traditional), with the same funding requirements, but at a uniform 10 basis points higher.
According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for any of BOFCU’s Certificates is 3 months interest, regardless of the Certificate’s length of term.
Availability
Headquartered in Vineland, New Jersey, Bridgeton Onized Federal Credit Union offers membership based on employment status and organization affiliation, some of which can be joined by anyone.
Easy Membership: Joining the Cohansey Area Watershed Association, Cumberland Players, Friends of the Bridgeton Free Public Library, Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Vineland, or Quack's Corner qualifies for BOFCU membership eligibility.
Employment: Employees and retirees of more than 90 SEGs, both large and small, are eligible to join.
Relationship: Family members of the above groups are also eligible for membership. Family members are defined as,
Spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, children and grandchildren. Any persons living in the same residence with a member and maintaining a single economic unit.
Joining Bridgeton Onized FCU and/or opening a Certficate can be done in-person at either of two New Jersey branches located in Bridgeton and Vineland, or online, although an in-person visit may be required to complete the process.

Bridgeton Onized Federal Credit Union (NCUA Charter # 3476) was chartered in 1939 by a group of employees of Owens Illinois, a local glass factory. The "Onized" portion of the Credit Union’s name is derived from "OweNs-IllinoiZ," a moniker used by Owens Illinois employees.
