About six months ago, Country Bank introduced its new Kasasa Cash Checking account that earns 2.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $20k. Qualifying balances over $20k earn 0.25% APY, with non-qualify balances earning 0.05% APY.

Kasasa Cash Checking Qualification Requirements

  • At least 12 debit card purchases.
  • At least one bill pay, or one automatic ACH transaction, or one Direct Deposit.
  • Be enrolled in and agree to receive eStatements.

The Kasasa Cash account has no minimum balance requirement or monthly service fee, but does require a $10 minimum opening deposit. Nationwide ATM fees will be reimbursed up to $25 monthly. There is a limit of one account per Social Security number.

Kasasa Saver

Country Bank also offers a Kasasa Saver account, which earns 1.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $100k. Qualifying balances over $100k earn 0.30% APY, with non-qualify balances earning 0.05% APY. Qualifying for your Kasasa Cash Checking rewards qualifies you for the Kasasa Saver reward rates. Like the Kasasa Cash account, the Kasasa Saver account has no minimum balance requirement or monthly service fee, and requires a $10 minimum opening deposit.

Opening a Kasasa Cash Checking and a Kasasa Savings account can be done online or at any of the 15 central Massachusetts branches located in Belchertown, Brimfield, Charlton (2), Leicester, Ludlow, Palmer (2), Paxton, Ware (3), West Brookfield, Wilbraham, and Worcester.

Country Bank Offers Competitive 12-Month CD

UPDATE 3/25/2016: Country Bank has changed the availability of this 12-month CD.

Availability: Nationwide In-branch transaction at any of the 14 Massachusetts branch locations.

Massachusetts’ Country Bank for Savings (Country Bank) added a new 12-month True Advantage CD (1.36% APY) to its product line near the beginning of March.

The minimum deposit is $25k, with no balance cap. Existing Country Bank customers’ deposits must include at least $5k of new money.

With Massachusetts being in the news today due to the Senate election, I thought this would be a timely post. The Massachusetts bank, Country Bank for Savings has a few competitive CD rates which are available to those outside of the state. These include:

  • 1.60% APY 6 months
  • 2.00% APY 15 months
  • 2.25% APY 24 months
