Credit Union Of Texas Raises Rate On 36-Month CD

Availability: Residents of Dallas, Collin, and Rockwall Counties, Texas

Credit Union Of Texas (CUTX) raised the rates on its 36-month CD (1.69% APY) today. This is the first rate increase for the 36-month CD since July 2011 when the APY was 1.35%.

The minimum opening deposit of $1K, with no maximum balance cap.

The 36-month CDs is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, and CESA) earning the same APY, but with a lower minimum opening deposit of $500.

CUTX also offers a 36-month Step Up CD (1.54% APY) that allows for "one step up during the life of the 36-month Step Up CD."

According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty is 180 days interest.

Availability

Credit Union Of Texas’ website states, "Membership is open to almost anyone in the Dallas area." The various ways individuals can qualify for membership are as follows:

1) Anyone who lives, works, or attends an institution of higher learning in Dallas, Colllin, and Rockwall Counties.

2) Anyone who lives of works in select areas of Grayson, Fannin, Ellis, Tarrant, and Denton Counties.

3) Any member of a school related association or organization created to benefit public or private schools.

4) Employees of more than in 120 SEGs, including non-profits, colleges, hospitals, government agencies, and large and small private businesses.

5) Anyone related by blood, marriage, or adoption to individuals who meet any of the above qualifications.
