According to CSR, funding a Certificate Special can be done by ACH, wire transfer, check, or through internal transfer. Dupaco is a member of the CO-OP Shared Branch network, making a transfer of funds relatively easy. Funding can also be done by credit/debit card, but there is a limit of $1k.

Maturing funds can be distributed by check to the address on file, by wire transfer, or transferred into a Dupaco savings account.

Headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa, Dupaco Community Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is community-based, with individuals who live or work anywhere in Iowa, or the Illinois counties of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Rock Island, or Whiteside, or the Wisconsin counties of Crawford, Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland, or Sauk.

Immediate family members of current Dupaco members are also eligible to join. Immediate family is defined as parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, in-laws, foster children, adopted children of current a member and such relatives of a deceased member.

Dupaco’s online membership application is actually a two-part process.

First, you'll choose the account(s) you want to open and tell us about you. Then we'll do a little work on our end and get back to you within one business day. We'll give you instructions for finishing your application at that time.

Dupaco also has 17 full-service Iowa branches located in Asbury, Carroll, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids (2), Dubuque (6), Dyersville, Manchester, Marion, Peosta, and Waterloo (2). Dupaco also has branch locations in Galena, Illinois and Platteville, Wisconsin

Your Dupaco membership begins with a Share Savings account. An opening deposit of $25 or more gives you a “share” of ownership in the credit union.

Dupaco participates in both the CO-OP Shared Branch and ATM networks. The first eight transactions each month at non-Dupaco-owned ATMs are fee-free, with each subsequent transaction subject to a 50¢ charge.

Credit Union Overview

Dupaco Community Credit Union has an overall health grade of "A+" at DepositAccounts.com, with a Texas Ratio of 2.85% (excellent), based on March 31, 2021 data. Please refer to our financial overview of Dupaco Community Credit Union (NCUA Charter # 64049) for more details.

Dupaco Community Credit Union is currently the third largest credit union in Iowa and the 137st largest credit union in the country, with nearly 139,000 members and assets in excess of $2.5 billion. Established in 1948 as the Dupaco Employees Credit Union, the original membership included the employees of the Dubuque Packing Company, exclusively. The credit union’s name was made up of six “borrowed” letters in Dubuque Packing Company’s name. (Interesting fact – in 1958, Dupaco became the first Iowa credit union to build its own office building.) The FOM began to expand in 1987 and by 2016, the entire state of Iowa, along with portions of Wisconsin and Illinois, were included.

in 2018, Dupaco celebrated its 70th anniversary in a unique fashion. While the traditional 70th anniversary symbols are platinum and diamonds, Dupaco chose to partner with,

7Hills Brewing Co. (Dubuque) to craft Brewpaco, a small-batch seasonal Belgian Whitbier.

How the CD Special Compares

When compared to the similar length-of-term CDs tracked by DepositAccounts.com that are available within the FOM, Dupaco Community Credit Union’s 15-month Jumbo Share Certificate Special APY currently ranks second.

I consistently have issues with their mobile banking check deposit. I have brought it to the attention of dupaco SEVERAL times over the past few years and still have issues. ALSO, I tried to get an auto insurance quote that turned into a complete waste of time --the quote was fair enough but trying to work out a couple small details regarding coverage amounts --I got tired of dealing with a bad rep and just gave up.

Diamond, you reminded me…as an AARP member for too many years to count and have Hartford home insurance, I’ve tried several times to couple an auto policy with it. The problems I found included not seeing and being able to read (or have my atty read) the policy provisions before contract. For example I found out/told that the policy would not currently include lifetime renewal which it use to provide and does for homeowners policies…why go with them w/o assurances on renewal? And, the killer was the policy really didn’t cover “me,” ie no liability on rental car (we are not talking about collision/comp) . Thanks for refresher
