$100 Checking Account Bonus at Elevations Credit Union in Colorado - Local Only

Elevations Credit Union is offering a $100 checking account bonus. There is no direct deposit requirement or debit card usage requirement. The promotion doesn't seem to be listed at the credit union's website. It was recently advertised in some Colorado newspapers. The ad is available online here. According to the ad, the steps required for the bonus include:
  • Bring ad in with you when you open your account before September 30, 2009 (check with credit union to make sure they would accept a printout of ad)
  • Deposit $25 into savings and open any checking account
  • Keep your account through at least January 2, 2010
You must be new to Elevations Credit Union (no accounts at credit union in the past 3 months).

Elevations Credit Union does have a free checking account without monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. Minimum initial deposit is $20.

Anyone in Colorado is eligible to join the credit union, but it appears you would still need a branch visit to qualify for the promotion. According to the credit union's membership page:
If you live in Colorado you can join via a membership in Consumers United Association. A $5.00 membership fee gives you eligibility to join Elevations Credit Union

You can be eligble to join the credit union without the association membership if you live or work in Boulder County, Broomfield County, or surrounding areas. Refer to the membership page for the full details. Credit union membership requires a $25 minimum deposit into a savings account.

Branches are located in Boulder, Longmont and Lafayette, Colorado.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68565).

Update 2/09/08: The 13-month promotional CD has ended. The yield on the 5-month promotional CD has gone down. Please check the credit union's website for the latest rates.

Elevations Credit Union is offering two certificate specials with a 4.85% APY. The terms are 13 months and 5 months, and the minimum deposit is $10,000. These are also available in an IRA.

The credit union still has its 9% 9-month CD special with a $2K maximum deposit (see post). They are also listing some competitive long term CD rates including a 5.00% APY...

Elevations Credit Union is offering three certificate specials. Two of these have a yield of 5.10% APY and terms of 13 and 5 months. The minimum deposit is $10,000. The third is a 6-month Jumbo CD with a yield of 5.28% APY. The minimum deposit is $100,000. These specials are also available in IRA, ESA and HSA accounts
