Evolve Federal Credit Union's Rewards Checking Offers Excellent Rate
Evolve Federal Credit Union’s (Evolve FCU) rewards checking account, ePriority Checking, has been part of the product line for more than ten years. ePriority Checking currently earns 5.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $10k. Qualifying balances greater than $10k and non-qualifying balances do not earn any interest.
The 5.00% APY went into effect at the beginning of October 2021, following a 177 bps increase. Since DA began tracking the ePriority Checking account in April 2011, there have been four rate increases and two rate decreases and, with APYs ranging between 7.23% and 3.03%.
There is only one requirement to earn the stated APY: 30 debit card transactions per month.
Transactions such as gas, online purchases and groceries, are all examples of transactions that count toward your 30-transaction minimum. Transactions such as ACH payments, ATM withdrawals and electronic bill payments do not count toward your 30-transaction count requirement.
Potential Fees
There is a $9 monthly fee that can be waived with a minimum 15 debit card transactions. The $6 ebills-Bill Pay fee can be avoided by using ebills/Bill Pay/Electronic Bill Pay at least once a month.
Availability
Headquartered in El Paso, Texas, Evolve Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is community-based, with individuals who live, work, or attend school in El Paso County eligible to join.
Joining Evolve FCU and/or opening an ePriority Checking account can be done online, or at any of five Texas full-service branches, all located in El Paso.
A minimum $15 deposit to open a share savings account is required to establish an Evolve FCU membership.
Evolve FCU participate in the CO-OP ATM network, but not the Shared Branch network.
