First Citizens Bank Offers $200 Checking Bonus

Now through September 30, 2017, First Citizens Bank (FCB) is offering a $200 bonus when opening a new Premier or Prestige checking account. The nice thing about this bonus is that direct deposit isn't required. The details are listed in FCB's Checking Bonus page. A summary of the promotion is described below:

$200 Bonus Requirements

  • Open a new Premier or Prestige checking account by September 30, 2017, with a minimum $100 opening deposit.
  • Obtain a new debit card for the new account.
  • Within 60 days of account opening either,
    • 1) Receive a qualifying direct deposit*, or
      2) Make 10 debit card purchases.

*Defined as a deposit of $500+, electronically deposited by an employer or an outside agency

Limitations

  • No minimum balance requirement to obtain the bonus.
  • Bonus will be credited within 90 days after all conditions have been met.
  • Account must be open and in good standing when bonus is awarded.
  • All account owners must be “new customers,” which is defined as “not a current or prior customer of First Citizens Bank.”
  • There is a $25 early closure fee if the new account is closed with 180 days of opening.

The Premier Checking account has a $16 monthly service fee that can be waived if one of the following requirements is met:

  • $5,000 combined daily balance in Premier Checking, Together Card, Regular Savings, Bonus Savings, e.savings, Tiered Money Market Savings, Premium Tiered Money Market Savings, CDs, IRAs or an Investor Services Account, or
  • ACH Direct Deposits totaling $4,000 or more into your Premier checking account, or
  • An EquityLine of at least $25,000, or
  • A consumer loan with original loan amount of $10,000 or more.
  • The Prestige Checking account has a $25 monthly service fee that can be waived if one of the following requirements is met:

  • $25,000 combined daily balance in Prestige Checking, Together Card, Regular Savings, Bonus Savings, e.savings, Tiered Money Market Savings, Premium Tiered Money Market Savings, CDs, IRAs or an Investor Services Account, or
  • ACH Direct Deposits totaling $6,500 or more into your Prestige checking account, or
  • An EquityLine of at least $100,000, or
  • A consumer loan with original loan amount of $25,000 or more.

    $150 Checking Account Bonus in Several States at First Citizens Bank

    Unlike most checking account promotions, this one at First Citizens Bank doesn’t require direct deposit. There are other ways to qualify for the bonus without direct deposit.     Update on First Citizens Bank's 2% 11-Month CD Specials in FL & CA

    First Citizens Bank had been offering 2% 11-month CD specials in South Florida and in Southern California for the last couple of months.
