LGE Community CU (GA) Ups High Rate Checking


Deal Summary: High Rate Checking, 3.00% APY on qualifying balances up to $25k.

Availability: Residents of the Georgia counties of Cherokee, Cobb, Fulton, and Paulding.

As I was researching another RCA, I discovered that LGE Community Credit Union (LGE) recently raised the rate on its High Rate Checking account. Qualifying balances up to $25k now earn 3.00% APY, with qualifying balances of $25k+ earning 0.10% APY. In addition to the new rate, credit card purchases (in addition to debit card purchases) are now counted towards meeting the qualifying requirements; if an LGE credit card is used, members receive unlimited 1% cash back.

Monthly Qualification Requirements

  • Be enrolled in eStatements
  • At least one direct deposit or ACH transaction
  • At least 15 LGE debit and/or credit card transactions totally at least $500

High Rate Checking Perks

  • No minimum balance requirement
  • All non-LGE ATM fees refunded, if qualifying requirements are met
  • Unlimited 1% cash back on purchases made with LGE VISA® credit card, if qualifying requirements are met
  • One free box of checks per year for members 60 years and older.

Headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, LGE Community Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is residency based, with individuals who live in Cherokee, Cobb, Fulton, and Paulding Counties eligible to join.

Joining LGE can be done online, or by downloading the membership application and returning it to any of the nine Georgia branches located in Acworth, Austell, Canton, Hiram, Kennesaw, Marietta (2), Roswell, and Woodstock.

3.50% 60-Month CD at LGE Community Credit Union in GA - Local Only
LGE Community Credit Union is offering a 3.50% APY 60-month certificate. It's part of their Double 350 promotion in which you can get 3.50% APY on both their 5-year CD and their reward checking account (see post). Minimum deposit for the CD is $1,000.
