Mutual Security CU (CT) Offers Competitive 25-Month CD Special

Mutual Security Credit Union’s (Mutual Security CU) is offering a competitive 25-month CD Special (1.55% APY).The minimum opening deposit is $500 of new money and there is a $100K maximum balance cap.

This is a limited-time offer, but no specific end date is listed on the Mutual Security CU's website.

The 25-month CD Special is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same APY with the same funding requirements.

As stated on Mutual Security CU’s Savings Rates page, the Early Withdrawal Penalty (EWP) reads as follows:

Early withdrawals will incur a penalty of 180 days of dividends whether earned or not.

Mutual Security CU also has a 19-month CD Special (1.25% APY), which is not as competitive as the 25-month CD Special. The funding requirements and the EWP are the same as 19-month CD Special, and it is also available as an IRA.

Headquartered in Shelton, Connecticut, Mutual Security Credit Union offers membership to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the Connecticut counties of Fairfield, Litchfield, and New Haven. Family members of current Mutual Security Credit Union members are also eligible to join.

In addition, more than 140 SEGs offer membership in Mutual Security CU as an employee/retiree benefit.

Joining Mutual Security CU and/or opening a CD can be done at any of 10 Connecticut branches located in Danbury (2), Norwalk, Ridgefield (2), Shelton (2), Stratford, Watertown, and Wilton. Mutual Security CU’s membership application is available for download to expedite the process.
