Pinnacle Bank Offers $100 Checking Bonus In Six States
I’ve been writing about Pinnacle Bank’s $100 Free Checking Account Bonus since 2012. During that time, little changed about the bonus and it was offered almost continually, until now.
In keeping with "out with the old, and in with the new," Pinnacle Bank has a new $100 bonus associated with its new Diamond Secure Account. The focus of this new checking account seems to be “protection.” Complete details can be found on the Diamond Secure Account promotion page.
When it comes to your bank account, you deserve peace of mind. A Diamond Secure Account provides you with valuable financial features plus cell phone and identity theft protection.
$100 Bonus Requirements
- Open a new Diamond Secure Account online.
- Minimum opening deposit is $100.
- Account must be open and in “good standing with no overdrafts” for the first 90 days.
Limitations:
- This promotional offer is only available online.
- Available only for new checking account customers (defined as someone with no checking account relationship with Pinnacle Bank in the previous 48 calendar months.)
- Limit one bonus per customer.
- The $100 bonus will be deposited after 90 days of account opening.
Note: "after 90 days of account opening" does not necessarily mean the bonus will be paid on Day 91. In the past, there were reports of the Free Checking Account bonus being paid at the end of the month, following the requisite 90 days. As always, proactive monitoring of your accounts is wise.
Availability
While Pinnacle Bank’s footprint extends into eight states, the $100 Diamond Secure Account bonus is only available to residents of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Wyoming, and must be applied for online.
Bank Overview
Pinnacle Bank (FDIC Certificate # 10634) has an overall health grade of "A" at DepositAccounts.com, with a Texas ratio of 3.33% (excellent) based on September 30, 2016 data. In the past year, Pinnacle Bank has increased its total non-brokered deposits by $83.77 million, an above average annual growth rate of 2.32%. Please refer to our financial overview of Pinnacle Bank for more details.
Pinnacle Bank’s story is about American as it gets: It’s 1938, and Nebraska is in the throes of the Great Depression. Local banks, and the communities they serve, are floundering. Two brothers, Tom and George Dinsdale, and a few of their friends, decide to do something to help: they pooled their resources together and opened a bank for their community. Today, Pinnacle Bank has over 140 locations in eight states and holds assets in excess of $9.3 billion.
How the Diamond Secure Account $100 Bonus Compares
While many of the checking bonuses I write about include requirements for direct deposits, debit card purchases, online bill payments, and/or minimum balances, the $100 Diamond Secure Account bonus requires none of those. The only requirement is that the account must remain opened and “in good standing with no overdrafts for the first 90 days.” It’s almost free money, except for the issue of the $4 service charge per statement cycle that cannot be waived.
If you’re looking for a long-term checking account, the $100 bonus is equal to 25 months of service charges.
If you’re looking for an easy-in/easy-out bonus, the $100 bonus will be decreased by at least $12 ($4 service charge x three months), and more likely than not, will be decreased by $16 (four months of service charges).
