R.I.A. FCU (IA/IL/WI) Offers Promotional CDs with Top 5-Year Rates

Deal Summary: 60-month Share Certificate, 2.42% APY base rate; immediate bump of 0.10% ($5k min), 0.20% ($50k min), and 0.30% ($100k min) with new money.

Yesterday, R.I.A. Federal Credit Union (RIA FCU) unveiled its “Dream Your Way To Higher Rates” promotion on its 18-, 24-, 36-, and 60-month Share Certificates. Immediate bump rates of an additional 0.10% ($5k min), 0.20% ($50k min), and 0.30% ($100k min) are available when the Share Certificates are opened with new money.

Of the four Share Certificates, the 60-month is the most competitive with rates of 2.42% APY ($1k+), 2.52% APY ($5k+), 2.63% APY ($50k+), and 2.73% APY ($100k+).

The 60-month Share Certificate is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, CESA), with the same funding requirements, but with an extra 5 bps per rate tier.

According to CSR, the Early Withdrawal Penalty for the 60-month Share Certificate is 180 days interest.

Availability

Headquartered in Bettendorf, Iowa (Quad Cities area), R.I.A. Federal Credit Union’s field of membership (FOM) is varied, including residency, employment, and military relationship.

Residency: Individuals who live or work within 30 miles of the Davenport or Wilton (Iowa) branch locations are eligible to join, as are individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Carroll County (Illinois). Individuals who live or work in Monroe and portions of Juneau Counties (Wisconsin) also qualify.

Military Relationship: U.S. Government civilian employees and military personnel (active or retired) who work, train, or are stationed on the Rock Island Arsenal, or Fort McCoy military installation are eligible for membership.

Employment: Employees of more than 220 SEGs (listed on the online application) also qualify.

Family Relationship: Immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling/step, child/step, grandparent) and household members of current RIA FCU membership are eligible to join.

Joining RIA FCU and/or opening a Share Certificate Special can be done online, or at any of three Iowa branches located in Bettendorf, Davenport, and Wilton. RIA FCU also has six Illinois branches located in Milan, Moline (2), Rock Island, Savanna, and Rock Island, and two Wisconsin branches in Fort McCoy and Tomah.

R.I.A Federal Credit Union has some competitive CD and IRA rates. The best ones include a 3.03% APY 5-year CD and a 2.32% APY 3-year CD.
