Team One Credit Union’s (Team One) highest earning CD is a 60-month CD with an APY of 3.25%. Like all Team One CDs, the 60-month requires a minimum opening deposit of $500, with no stated balance cap.

The 60-month CD is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, CESA), earning the same APY with the same funding requirements.

The 3.25% APY has been in effect since December 2018. CSR stated she was not aware of any plans to “lower the rate any time soon.”

Dividends can be credited to a Team One savings or checking account. Partial withdrawals are permitted and, as stated in the Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the Early Withdrawal Penalty (EWP) reads as follows:

36-60 month maturity – 365 days

In addition to the EWP, there is a $10 “Certificate changed prior to maturity” fee. The grace period before a CD automatically renews is a generous 15 days.

Headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan, Team One Credit Union is another Michigan credit union that has recently expanded its field of membership (FOM) to include all U.S. citizens and resident aliens who live, work, worship, or attend school anywhere in the State of Michigan.

Immediate family members (spouse, parent, or sibling) of current Team One members also qualify for membership.

Joining Team One can be done online, or at any of eleven full-service Michigan branches located in Bad Axe, Bay City, Bloomfield Hills, Caro, Flint, Owosso, Saginaw (3), Sandusky, and Traverse City.

A Team One Regular Savings account (no minimum deposit amount) is required to establish and maintain your membership.

If you close your Regular Savings before dividends are credited, you will also be required to close your Certificate with us and you may not receive accrued dividends on any of the Accounts closed.

At this time, a CD cannot be opened online, but can be opened at any of the above-mentioned branch locations or by phone (888.088.3261).

Team One Credit Union was established in 1935 as the Saginaw Teachers Club Credit Union. For more than twenty years, its official home was in the physics class at Saginaw High School and then moved to the front porch of the Credit Union Treasurer’s home. The Saginaw Main Office opened in 1967 with one full-time employee, Don Pilon. Mr. Pilon later became the first CEO of Team One Credit Union.

The Credit Union rebranded three times (1955, 1972, and 1993 as Team One) and expanded the FOM three times. In 2013, the FOM expanded to include 63 of Michigan’s 85 counties. Within the past few months, Team One began offering membership to residents in all Michigan counties. In almost 85 years of service, Team One Credit Union has grown to become Michigan’s 20th largest credit union, with nearly 53,000 member and assets in excess of $559 million.
