Advia Credit Union Has Rate-Leading Long-Term CDs
Two years ago this week, Advia Credit Union (Advia CU) unveiled three limited-time Promo Rate CDs (5-, 10-, and 25-month), each earning 2.25% APY. DA readers who opened a 25-month Promo Rate CD are probably on the look-out for somewhere to place the soon-to-be maturing funds.
It’s possible Advia CU may offer some promotional CDs in the next few weeks, but if that doesn’t happen, Advia CU’s 48-month and 60-month Advantage Plus Rewards CDs currently earn excellent rates. The minimum opening deposit is $500, with no stated balance cap.
The non-Advantage Plus Rewards CDs have rates that are 25 bps lower. The additional 25 bps are available through the Member Advantage Rewards program. Advia has simplified the Member Advantage Rewards monthly qualifications, making it quite easy to qualify.
Have a Checking Account – including Regular, Assurance, or Money Market Checking.
e-Deposit at least $400 – Direct Deposit, ATM, and Mobile Deposit (RDA) all qualify.
Make at least 20 purchases – with your Advia® Visa Credit and Debit Cards.
As stated in the Truth-in-Savings disclosure, the Early Withdrawal Penalty reads as follows,
If your account has an original maturity of 48 months: The penalty we may impose will equal 270 days dividends on the amount withdrawn subject to penalty. If your account has an original maturity of 60 months: The penalty we may impose will equal 360 days dividends on the amount withdrawn subject to penalty.
Funding a CD can be done by ACH, wire transfer, or a transfer from an Advia CU checking or savings account. Advia CU participates in both the CO-OP and Alliance One Shared Branch networks, facilitating the transfer of funds.
Maturing funds can be distributed through a wire transfer, a check to the address on file, or transferred into an Advia CU checking or savings account. There is a seven calendar day grace period before a CD will automatically renew.
