5.55% 7-Month CD at a Florida CU (Community First)

Community First Credit Union is offering a special 5.55% APY 7-month certificate of deposit. The minimum deposit is $500, and the maximum deosit is $100,000. The early withdrawal penalty is 180 days of interest.

The credit union still has some very competitive standard CD rates. I first reported on these rates in September. The top rate is 5.76% APY for a 60-month term and a minimum deposit of $100k.

Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns counties. Please see the Eligibility page for the full details. Membership requires a $10 fee and a minimum $5 deposit into the primary share savings account.

Branches are located in Jacksonville and several other cities of northeast Florida. The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 67290). It's a large credit union with $1.1 billion in assets and 104,190 members.

Community First Credit Union has some competitive rates on its long term certificates of deposit. The highest yield is 5.76% APY on a 60-month term and a $100k minimum deposit. A $45k minimum deposit has a yield of 5.71% APY and a $500 minimum has a yield of 5.65% APY. Other competitive yields with a $100K minimum include a 5.51% APY for a 30-month term, a 5.56% APY for a 36-month term and a 5.65% APY for a 48-month term.
