Scott Credit Union's Competitive 30-Month CD Special - Limited Time Only

For a limited time, Scott Credit Union (IL) is offering a 30-month CD Special with three different tiered rate levels:

1.59% APY on balances <>

1.74% APY on balances <>

1.79% APY on balances >$100K

It can be opened with a minimum $1K deposit and there is no maximum balance cap. This 30-month CD Special is also available as an IRA (Traditional, Roth, CESA and SEP) at the same rates.

As stated on the Savings Certificate Special page, the Early Withdrawal Penalty is as follows:

If the original or subsequent term of the certificate is greater than 12 months, the lesser of an amount equal to 182 days dividends or all dividends already paid will be forfeited.

Availability

Membership eligibility in Scott Credit Union is primarily residency based. Anyone who lives or works in the Illinois Counties of Bond, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Macoupin, Madison, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair, Washington, or Williamson, or St. Louis County, Missouri, is eligible for membership.

Joining Scott Credit Union and opening a CD can be done online or at any of 15 branches located in Belleville (2), Caseyville, Collinsville, Edwardsville (2), Fairview Heights, Highland, Mascoutah, Millstadt, O’Fallon, Scott Air Force Base, Troy, Waterloo, and Wood River.

Expired: 5.26% 36-Month CD at an Illinois Credit Union (Scott)

Update 2/2/08: The CD rates have fallen. Please check the credit union's website for the latest rates.

Scott Credit Union is offering very high yields on its 36-month share certificate. The yields include 5.10% APY for a $1,000 minimum, 5.26% APY for a $50K minimum and 5.31% APY for a $100K minimum. I called the credit union today, and I was told that these rates are still valid. New rates are usually posted on Wednesdays.
