$100 Checking Account Bonus at a California CU (U.S. First)

U.S. First Credit Union is having a promotion in which you can earn up to $100 bonus for its free checking account. The first $50 is earned when you open a new checking account with direct deposit or regular deposit activity. Another $25 is earned when you sign-up for eStatements and the last $25 is earned when you activate online bill pay. The checking account must be opened by July 31, 2007.

Note, they have a free checking account called Easy Checking with no minimum balance requirements. I'm not sure what is meant by regular deposit activity, but perhaps ACH pushes from an online bank would satisfy this.

Field of membership includes those who live, work or worship in the counties of San Mateo, San Francisco or Marin, California. You can also be eligible via select employee groups and family. See site for details. Membership requires a minimum deposit of $5 into the basic savings account.

The credit union is federally insured by the NCUA (Charter # 68554). It has $119 million in assets and 12,185 members.

Thanks to the reader who mentioned this promotion in the comments.
