Wisconsin-based Altra Federal Credit Union (Altra FCU) is celebrating its 85th Anniversary with an $85 bonus for new members who open an A+ Checking account between October 1 and October 8, 2016. No additional hoops to jump through - just open a new A+ Checking account and,
$85 will be deposited directly into new A+ Checking Account within 5-7 business days.
I first wrote about the A+ Checking account in 2007, and this reward checking account has fared well in the climate of falling rates. The A+ Checking account has been earning 2.25% APY on qualifying balances up to $15k for more than 3 ½ years. Qualifying balances over $15k earn 0.50% APY, with non-qualifying balances earning 0.10% APY.
- Receive monthly A+ Checking Report Card and eStatement via email.
- Log in to Online Banking at least once per cycle.
- Receive one Direct Deposit of at least $50 per cycle.
- Have at least ten Altra Visa Debit Card purchases per cycle.
A+ Checking is a fee-free account with no minimum balance requirement. ATM fees are reimbursed up to $20 per cycle. The external funds transfer policy has not changed since I last wrote about it in November 2014:
Incoming transfers are free.
Outgoing transfers are $5.00.
Transaction limit of $2000.00. Daily limit of $2,000.00.
No repeating dollar transactions within the same day.
Thanks to DA reader, Carpline, for his Forum post about this short-lived deal.
